Like many artists I originally trained as a graphic designer and subsequently worked in illustration and design for various local authorities.
Over the last ten years I have concentrated on developing my own art and style.
I experimented with various media and approaches, eventually settling on a broadly watercolour-based application combined with mixed media including collage, textural mediums, acrylics, inks and various ‘dry’ materials.
I am fascinated by how light influences our perceptions in landscape though, fundamentally, I would classify myself as a colourist.
My influences include artists such as Robert Dutton and Chris Foresy.
I see New Art Gallery as an important element in bringing my work to a much larger audience. I hope you enjoy looking at (and hopefully buying!) my work as much as I enjoyed making it.
