LYNDA GRIFFITHS (Lynartwales)

Born in Shropshire but having lived most of my life in Wales, married to a Welsh man and having a daughter born in Wales, I class myself as a ‘surrogate Welsh lady’!

I have always been interested in art and encouraged to follow my passion at an early age by my grandmother (who was a professional artist and Lecturer in Art in Leeds Art College). I spent many happy times during my adolescent years being taught by my grandmother and after the birth of my daughter I started college undertaking a Fine Art Course.

However, it was not until I finished work (after many years working full time in the Education and Health Services) that I had the time to start painting again.  I was also very fortunate that my husband was able to build me a studio in the garden, so now I can follow my passion at last!

My paintings are very much inspired by my time living and visiting Wales and in particular, Pembrokeshire with the beautiful coastline, harbours and villages.  Now working mainly in acrylics I have developed my own style, which in my mind reflects the colours and bold outlines of the Welsh land/sea/scape and harbours which I so love.
