“I have drawn in one form or another for as long as I can remember and when I left school wanted to go to art college. My parents, however, decided I needed to get a “proper” job, so after national service, I joined a bank and spent the next thirty years in various place around the Far East. During this period, I did a lot of in house cartoons and caricatures, for the office and other local publications and continued this into retirement. However, without the office and sporting environment on which my humour was largely based, I slowly ran out of ideas and switched to oil painting, though I still do the odd caricature when requested. My main interest has always been people, preferably in some kind of action and preferably with interesting light effects. Hence, rock stars were my initial subject matter, though recently I have moved on to other things. Hopefully, I can continue to diversify and develop”
