‘Nascent Stag’, Gill Bustamante

Nascent Stag is a vibrantly coloured painting of
a red deer stag appearing out of an abstract background (nascent means just
forming). It is 30x20x1.5 inches. The stag stands imperiously looking at the
viewer, as deer tend to, and is positioned so that there is a lot of space
around him adding to his proudness. This is another in a series of
semi-abstract vs traditional paintings of wildlife I have been making for many
years. For me, it sums up the gorgeous ethereal quality of deer and has the
message that our birds, wildlife, landscapes and nature are miraculous and
