Description
‘City Sunrise II’
A hand-embellished giclée print from an original painting by Karen Holt,
A hand-embellished print is a type of artwork where the artist adds additional details, textures, or colours to a printed reproduction of their original work. The process involves taking a standard print produced through methods like giclée, lithography, or screen printing, and then enhancing it by hand using materials like paint, ink, or other media. This gives each print a unique, one-of-a-kind appearance, to add value and collectability.
The purpose of hand embellishing is to add depth, texture, or a personal touch that makes the print feel more original and valuable. The embellishments might include added highlights, brushstrokes, or other artistic elements that are not present in the standard print. Because of the artist’s direct involvement in embellishing the print, these works are often more expensive than unembellished prints and are considered more collectable.
